Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT TIME DO I NEED TO ARRIVE BEFORE A SHOW?

Our Box Office opens 30 minutes before the performance starts, unless your ticket or other communication from the theatre tells you otherwise.

WHAT IF I’M LATE AND THE PERFORMANCE HAS STARTED?

Live theatre has a ‘lock-out’ policy; a period after the curtain goes up when late-comers are not permitted to enter the auditorium. Lock-out periods are set by the production and vary from show to show. Patrons arriving late will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. Our ushers will advise you when you can enter the auditorium.

IT IS MY FIRST TIME TO THE THEATRE. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

We want you to feel comfortable when you come to our place so we have complied a few tips (link to theatre etiquette) to make your visit memorable.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE?

Sometimes there will be an indication of dress code on your ticket or in the show’s promotional materials. Generally, we like to remember that the Roxy is our ‘Palace of Dreams’ and we like people to dress for the occasion.

CAN I BRING TAKEAWAY FOOD OR BOTTLES OF CHAMPAGNE INTO THE AUDITORIUM?

Whilst you are welcome to take snacks and soft drinks bought at our bar with you into the theatre, we do NOT allow patrons to take external alcohol, hot food or beverages, strong smelling food or glass bottles into the auditoriums. Our theatre bars provide a wide range of refreshments that you are able to take into the auditorium and consume during the show.

WHERE DO I COLLECT MY TICKETS FROM?

Our box office is located within the theatre foyers and is open half an hour before the show to allow you to collect your tickets. You will need to provide identification and present the credit card used to purchase the tickets.

I WOULD LIKE TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON MY EXPERIENCE, WHO CAN I CONTACT?

We welcome any feedback that you may have. Please email (roxy@leeton.nsw.gov.au ) your feedback including the date and time you attended the theatre.

I AM VISUALLY IMPAIRED. WHERE SHOULD I SIT?

For closer seating to the stage we recommend sitting at the front of the Stalls.

I AM HEARING IMPAIRED. WHERE SHOULD I SIT?

Our HEARING LOOP amplifies sound to all seats throughout the theatre. If you would like to use this service, please arrive early and drop by the Box Office to collect a receiver / headset.

I HAVE DIFFICULTY WITH STAIRS. WHERE SHOULD I SIT?

Purchase tickets in the balcony and you will be able to use the elevator to get there. Otherwise, sitting in any location in the Stalls means there will only be a few very small stairs to negotiate. Our Ushers are also very helpful, so please ask them for assistance.

I AM IN A WHEELCHAIR. WILL I BE ABLE TO ATTEND A SHOW?

The ROXY Community Theatre is fully accessible with wheelchair-friendly seating, street level access to the venue, and lift access to the dress circle and other facilities. If you have seating requirements, please let us know when buying your ticket.

ARE SERVICE DOGS ALLOWED?

Yes, accredited service dogs are allowed to enter the theatre. Please make sure you bring accreditation proof with you to the ROXY as our ushers will need to sight this before allowing entry. Service dogs must remain on the floor at all times.

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

There is one mobility car park on Pine Avenue close to the ROXY and few others on Wade Avenue. Free street parking (timed) is available along Pine and Wade Avenues. For large vehicles or coaches, please park in the free car park in Sycamore St (behind the main street) and work to the ROXY via Chelmsford Place.

HOW DO SMS and E-TICKETS WORK?

SMS ticketing is like E-Tickets (print-at-home tickets) but instead of having to print off the tickets yourself, you can just show the ticket barcode on your mobile phone. E-Tickets will arrive into your email inbox as an attachment to an email from TicketSearch Administration. Please be ready to show these PDFs when you arrive at the ROXY.

DO YOU HAVE A LOST PROPERTY DEPARTMENT?

Yes, items handed into our Lost Property department are recorded and registered. If you have lost something in the ROXY, please email us (roxy@leeton.nsw.gov.au )  and we will make every effort to locate your lost item.

CAN CHILDREN ATTEND ON THEIR OWN?

Children under the age of 16 years old cannot attend on their own and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

HOW DO I BUY TICKETS?

Tickets to all ROXY Community Theatre shows can be made in the following ways:

  • online through our web site;
